Shakespeare In The Park - A Midsummer Night’s Dream 2013-07-16 19:30 Twenty-five years ago, a ragtag band of young actors mounted A Midsummer Night’s Dream, realizing their dream of creating Montreal’s very own Shakespeare-in-the-Park touring company. In 1988, 800 audience members were witness to this first production. Today, over 10,000 people enjoy this spectacular tradition each year. Please join us as Repercussion Theatre presents yet another magical production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream on the great lawn just inside the main gates of the Mount Royal Cemetery. One of the most beloved plays by William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream has something for absolutely everyone: lovers in a dangerous time, spooky woods, fighting fairies, mistaken identities, hardworking men in makeup, love and laughter, music, magic and mayhem, and all the excitement that comes when friendship and love are pushed to their limits. This fantastical production will feature actors from seasons past as well as fresh and talented up-and-comers. Don’t miss this special staging of a play that practically invented the concept of setting Shakespeare in a park!
