The Mount Royal Funeral Complex gives you the flexibility to personalize the kind of funeral service you want in either a traditional setting or a contemporary style. With sensitivity and compassion, funeral and memorial services are carefully tailor-made to suit your familial and cultural traditions, as well as your religious or non-religious rites.
The Complex itself is nestled on the beautiful grounds of historic Mount Royal Cemetery. A choice of comfortable and tastefully appointed visitation rooms are available. Fully equipped reception halls with stunning panoramic views of the city below are also available for small or large memorial events and partial to complete catering services are also in place to meet your own unique tastes and expectations. The Complex is nestled on a private hill within an expanse of rolling grounds on the northern crest of Mount Royal Cemetery amid centuries-old trees, beautiful landscaping and dense, natural foliage. History is everywhere, surrounded by natural beauty and elegance.
Two beautifully appointed chapels are available within the complex. The "Mount Royal" chapel dates back to the turn of the century and is designed with traditional and religious architectural motifs including beautiful stained glass windows. The newer "Outremont" chapel is without identifiable religious themes and artifacts, creating a more modern, non-religious yet warm atmosphere to accommodate equally meaningful services of all types and styles. The “Outremont” chapel is fully equipped for video or musical tributes and can accommodate up to three hundred guests.
Come and visit us and travel the winding roads that lead to and from the Complex. You will see why this unique setting makes the Mount Royal Funeral Complex a landmark in funeral service in the Montreal area.
The Mount Royal Funeral Complex is a non-profit organization, like its sister company The Mount Royal Cemetery Company, which allows its volunteer Board of Trustees to put all of its energies and priorites where they belong, serving you and your family in difficult times. As an added benefit, the “Growing Through Grief Aftercare Program” was developed to offer support to bereaved individuals and families, at no charge.
Today many families are discovering the benefits of pre-planning their own funerals. Planning for your own funeral can provide peace of mind. There are three main reasons why people preplan: alleviating the burden for their family, having the funeral they want, and saving money by freezing today’s prices and benefiting from flexible payment terms with no interest. Pre-planning allows surviving family members to focus on grieving and remembrance when the death occurs.
